Oxford Tutoring is all up to date with our SAT curriculum so that students can be prepared to take the brand new SAT.   Our courses offer tools students can use to more efficiently take the tests, as well as effective strategies, essay help, skill-building, weekly practice tests, homework, and quizzes.

We offer two different SAT courses including SAT Summa and SAT Magna.  SAT Summa is designed for those students who are looking to score in the 90th percentile or above, while our SAT Magna class is for those students desiring to strengthen their understanding of how the SAT works and improve their score. Courses for the SAT are offered beginning February 27 as well as a summer course beginning the week of June 20th.  Sign up for any of our courses 4 weeks early and receive 15% off.

Furthermore, we have crash courses, 6-hour boot camps the weekend right before the exam.  This course provides an intensive review so students approach the exam with well-rehearsed strategies fresh in their minds.  Students can apply these strategies to a real exam during the course.  SAT Crash Course offered February 27th, April 30th, May 28th, and October 1st.  This crash course is free for students signed up for either of our courses.

Don’t see a class that fits your schedule?  Ask about our “build a class” option or schedule private tutoring.

Our curriculum for our ACT courses is designed to prepare your student for the challenging ACT test.  Like the SAT, our ACT courses are offered as ACT Summa and ACT Magna.  Both provide focused, efficient instruction essential to achieve a top score.  In depth lectures, practice exams, quizzes, homework, essay help, and strategies are provided.  ACT courses are offered starting January 30th, April 19th, and the week of June 20th. Sign up for any of our courses 4 weeks early and receive 15% off.

A very common question we get asked here at Oxford Tutoring, is “What books should my students be reading?”  We know that schools require reading for students, and while these books contain educational value, they can often be a little dry for students to read in their spare time.  So we will be providing book recommendations that will improve student’s reading comprehension, analysis skills, and prepare them for tests like the SAT and the ACT, but are also entertaining, motivating students to read outside of class assignments.

Our current book recommendations can be found in our lobby at Oxford Tutoring.

For 3rd-6th Grade

We are currently recommending Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.   Step inside this exciting world of golden tickets, candy, and oompa-loompas.  This book will ignite the imaginations of any readers who enter the gates of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory!

For 7th Grade-High School

We recommend The Call of the Wild by Jack London. This book explores the idea of nature vs. nurture and finding who we really are at our core, despite what others have told us that we are or forced us to be.

We even have a book recommendation for parents!

Read The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio: How My Mother Raised 10 Kids on 25 Words or Less by Terry Ryan.  A story of overcoming great odds, perseverance, and the importance of making the best of what you have been given, this book is a must read for anyone looking for an example of beating the odds.
